Idan added: ‘When you @IlhanMN come to my State, My City, My zip code right here in CA & accept an award from CAIR a Muslim brotherhood affiliated organization IT IS my business!

‘First was the Middle East, then Europe & now the USA. I fled from the same ideology you’re trying to export here.’

Idan accompanied her tweet with a picture of a poster from a Council on American-Islamic Relations fundraising event.

While Omar has not responded directly to Idan she did send the ok emoji back to one user who wrote: ‘Just because Ilhan Oman is a muslim she should be representative of all muslims? She is not running in elections as a muslim, but as an American for a district. She only represents them. Who cares about former Miss Iraq and her thoughts?’

She also retweeted another who wrote: ‘People come after you for the wildest things. Anyway, thank you for your efforts as my representative in Congress Rep. Omar!’
